This could be why you’re depressed or anxious – Johann Hari

“If you’re depressed or anxious, you’re not weak and you’re not crazy – you’re a human being with unmet needs,”

Johann Hari

When he said that quote, it made me feel a wave of realization: We went through a certain phase which made us feel that we can’t change what is wrong with us. And through time, I have come to realize, even with the loads of anxiety that I carry, I always have a fresh slate to start over on. There is no right or wrong in the feelings and sorrows that I carry, but it all lies in the way that I perceive it. By neglecting the most obvious ways of helping myself, I resort to allowing “anxiety” to eat up my brain. I know that even now, there are moments where I have anxiety and where I do give it some space in my head, but that doesn’t mean that there isn’t a cure, it’s just a change in methods of lifestyle and thinking, that makes the difference.
